Welcome! My name is Dawn Rodman and I am SO excited to be teaching 5th grade at WNIS again this year!! This is my sixth year at WNIS and my 10th year teaching. I am fortunate this year to be teaching Language Arts and Social Studies in the Trailblazer Pod, teaching in a team with Mrs. Ferrer who is teaching math and Mr. Nelson who is teaching science. My previous teaching experience took place right out of college in the DODDS system at Robins AFB and in Fairfax County School system in Virginia. I was fortunate to stay at home with my children for 12 years while our family moved and supported our military life. My husband has retired from the Air Force after more than 20 years of service and we are happy to call Navarre our permanent home. I have two children who have both attended WNIS and as a parent volunteer was impressed by the WNIS teachers and staff and was inspired to return to teaching. My daughter now attends Navarre High School and my son is attending Woodlawn Beach Middle School this fall. I believe that teachers and parents truly must be team in educating a child and parent-teacher relationships are key to success. I also believe that providing a safe, trusting, and organized environment while engaging students and having fun while learning is paramount. I look forward to "Rocketing into Reading" and helping your child have a successful 5th grade year!
